DIG: Development in the Valley Produces Godly Growth

May 3, 2026    Pastor Brandon Phillips

What do you do when obedience leads you into a valley?

In this message, we look at Deuteronomy 11, 2 Kings 3, 1 Kings 20, and the pattern of valleys throughout Scripture. The Bible does not treat valleys as accidents, detours, or signs that God has abandoned His people.

Instead, valleys are often the very places where God tests, forms, prepares, and fills His people.

Israel was promised a land of hills and valleys. The valley was not outside of the promise — it was built into it.

And in 2 Kings 3, when God’s people found themselves in a dry valley with no water, the instruction was not to escape. It was simple: dig.

Faith prepares before it sees proof. Faith makes room before the rain comes. Faith trusts what God said even when the ground still looks dry.

If you are walking through a low place, this message is a reminder: God is not only the God of the hills. He is the God of the valleys too.
