Growing Up: Why Nicodemus Had Information But Missed Intimacy (John 3)
We all want to feel like we've contributed something to earn our worth in front of God, but the story of Nicodemus in John 3 flips that idea upside down. He was a Pharisee, a ruler of the Jews, a man who could quote the first five books of the Bible word for word. He worshipped, tithed, prayed, and showed up every time the doors were open. And Jesus still told him he needed to be born again.
In this message, we walk through Nicodemus's three appearances in the Gospel of John, from his nighttime visit in John 3, to his defense of Jesus before the Pharisees in John 7, to his final act of devotion at the tomb in John 19. Along the way we look at what it means to move from religious performance to genuine transformation, why information alone can never produce new life, and why God still works in the dark, hidden places of our lives.
If you've ever felt like you know all the right answers but still sense something missing, this one is for you.
